One day, boyfriend, now husband, and I decided to make ice cream. While he leaned toward familiar flavors like chocolate and vanilla, my mind went somewhere else entirely. Strawberry/Basil, Rhubarb/Blackberry/Pink Pepper, or Jalepeno/Mimosa. Unexpected combinations that shouldn’t work, but somehow felt right. That moment says a lot about how I move through the world. I’m drawn to contrast, to experimentation, to finding beauty in the uncommon.

That same instinct is at the heart of Hummingbyrd.

I started this brand because I wanted scents that felt personal and expressive, not generic or overdone. Fragrance should tell a story. It should feel like you. Your space. Your mood. Your edges and softness, all at once.

Every candle and fragrance we make is poured in small batches with care and intention. We use coconut soy wax and phthalate and paraben free fragrance oils, and we choose vessels that are meant to be reused and lived with. These details matter to us because the small things shape how a space feels.

Hummingbyrd is not about chasing trends or playing it safe. It’s about trusting your instincts and choosing what resonates, even if it’s unexpected. Especially if it’s unexpected.
